In dangerous times – like now – forecasting is vital and we’re not talking about the weather.
According to the World Wide Web forecasting refers to the practice of predicting what will happen in the future by taking into consideration events that have occurred in the past and what’s currently happening.
A meteorologist who forecasts tomorrows weather today; an economist who predicts an interest rate rise; an expert official who estimates the amount of coffee, rice or wheat to be produced; and an astronomer who plots the future position of a planet are all predicting the future.
Forecasting is essentially an exercise in examining past and present data and projecting what’s found into the future. It’s considered a science and an art. The science involves quantitative methods, historical data and statistical techniques. The art involves the judgment of the data by the expert forecaster.
Forecasting has an important role to play in life. Weather forecasting can help saves lives and property and when you get right down to it, the value of a forecast by a meteorologist, economist, expert official or futurist is measured by its capacity to accurately foretell what will happen in the future under given conditions. That said, much forecasting can be dismissed as entertaining guesswork. It doesn’t mean much.
Governments and businesses rely on economic theory and current trends when forecasting and planning the future; but in the world of science the most accurate test of a scientific theory is its ability to predict phenomena before they occur.
Actuarial statistics give the probability that a man or woman who has already lived a certain number years will live to a certain age; but in most important matters related to life and health scientists and doctors can foretell very little about your future. They don’t have the intelligence, ability or technology to make, or time, specific predictions so their forecasts are probabilities with vague time-frames.
Knowledge of the future allows you to prepare
On a personal level what you do is based upon what you reasonably expert in the future. And the more precisely you know the conditions and events likely to affect your life, and when they will be present, the more effectively you can prepare yourself to manage and adapt to those conditions and events.
Your success in life requires constant adaptation to a changing environment and the more effectively you adapt yourself to the events you attract the greater is your progress.
It’s a no-brainer: foretelling the future is essential to progress.
To make progress and live to your highest, it is essential that you know as much as possible about the circumstances and events you will encounter in the future and when they will occur. And insofar as the most significant events and conditions are concerned, there are only two known avenues through which they may be foreknown.
One is Hermetic astrology and the other – which may or may not employ some divinatory instrument – is extrasensory perception.
But know this: while the probability of the event indicated by either Hermetic astrology or extrasensory perception may be very high, neither foreshows events that are inevitable.
Each may show events that are highly likely and by taking proper precautionary actions you can instigate change and avoid them. Other events may involve factors beyond your control, which you can’t change, such as impositions made on your freedom at the time of a pandemic. But knowing they are likely enables you to arrange your life beforehand in such a manner that their effect upon you is more beneficial than it otherwise would have been.
Very frequently Hermetic astrology does not indicate the specific event. Instead, the progressed aspects indicate events of a certain type during a given period of time. While your previous conditioning and present circumstances may make an event indicated by a given progressed aspect quite certain, more often than not there are several alternative events any one of which may come into your life during the progressed aspect’s time-frame of influence.
The event indicated may be fortunate or unfortunate and in both instances it is wise to be prepared so that you can take full advantage of its benefits and opportunities or take action to minimize its harm and difficulty.
And while Hermetic astrology customarily points to alternative, rather than specific, events that can occur during a given time period in the future it is more valuable than extrasensory perception when foretelling the future.
Extrasensory perception
If we could turn extrasensory perception on at will, it should no doubt outrank astrology in its usefulness in foretelling the future. But in our present state of knowledge no one seems to be able to do this.
The inner-plane knowledge gained by the soul of future conditions must be brought up into the realm of objective consciousness in order to have a value. But several factors – the electromagnetic energies, the activity of the thought-cells of the astral form, the planetary energies reaching these thought-cells, and external circumstances that attract the attention – have such a powerful influence over the delicate and illusive energies by which the soul registers what it has perceived on the inner-plane on the brain that this registering is often completely blocked or distorted.
Furthermore, unless inner-plane extrasensory perception employs Hermetic astrology it is unable to accurately time events. A condition or event will be seen, often in all its minute detail which Hermetic astrology can’t do, but whether it is a month, or five years, away extrasensory perception is often unable to decide.
Those who cultivate extrasensory perception usually have periods in which they get no information by such means, no matter how hard they try. And there are other periods when it is difficult for them to decide, because of interfering cerebral processes, how much reliance they can place on what seems to come through largely from extrasensory perception.
And there are other periods, which may be rare or frequent according to the individual, in which they have no shadow of a doubt that the foreknowledge gained through extrasensory perception is completely reliable.
There are myriads of instances on record, in which the events foretold have saved lives, averted disasters, given inventors the clue to enable them to perfect some valuable invention, shown scientists the way to some outstanding discovery, and in other ways have been of incalculable benefit.
Take home message
Hermetic astrology does foretell the future consistently. It may be used at will, even though it customarily does not reveal details, and commonly is reliable only in foreshowing several alternate events, one of which is likely to happen.
Extrasensory perception does at times foretell the future in much detail and with much benefit to those who employ or heed it.
Progress depends upon knowing as much about the future as possible and the only way it can be acquired is through Hermetic astrology’s progressed chart knowledge and extrasensory perception.
