Thoughts are vibrations in astral substance

Hermetic astrology teaches that each planet cutting the energy fields set up by the Sun and Moon radiates its own particular type of astral energy that has its own wavelength, frequency and electrical potential. And to influence your life and conduct these astral energies need a point of reception that is not only composed of the same astral substance but is also in contact with your physical body.

Your soul aka unconscious mind fills the bill. It’s composed of astral substance, resides in the astral plane and maintains contact with your physical body by the psychokinetic power of its thoughts.

Its thoughts are vibrations in astral substance.

Your soul gained whatever control it has over your brain and physical body through organizing lines of force in its astral form.

These special astral lines of force, organized by ceaseless effort to control your thoughts and actions, transmit the orders of your soul to your brain and nervous system. The electromagnetic motions set up, cause you to think objectively and to act in a certain way, just as your soul dictates.

A thought is a set of motions within your astral brain. If these motions, or vibratory frequencies, are transmitted through electromagnetism to the substance of your physical brain, the thought rises from your unconscious mind into the region of objectivity. You’re then objectively conscious of a thought that may have been present for a long or a short time in your soul aka unconscious mind without you being aware of it.

Sensations and sense impressions coming from your local environment set up rates of motion in your brain that are transmitted through electromagnetism to your astral brain where they are registered and compared with other rates of motion set up by previous experiences. Such a comparison when it rises into objective consciousness through its motions being transmitted to your physical brain is a definite perception.

Every thought you think is composed of numerous factors, each factor being definite motions set up by previous experiences that persist in your astral form.

These experiences may have been with the physical world or derived in great measure from mental processes: for thinking itself is an experience.

Whatever… a thought is a complex organization of modes of motion derived from experience that cooperate because of their association.

Your thoughts are not isolated units, but complex organizations of motion.

A wider range of experiences provides more material for thought but utilizing this material requires practice in properly organizing the various motions in your astral body into systematic groups.

It is not sufficient to have innumerable physical experiences if you want to possess mental force. You must also cultivate the ability to organize them by means of mental processes into clear-cut ideas.

Thoughts are real organizations of astral substance

Thoughts that enter, or reside within your not-conscious mind, are real organizations of astral substance. They obey the well-known law of association, which controls all mental processes. They combine to form a plan, question, enterprise or idea and those with the highest potential access the data transfer energy aka electromagnetism and regularly stream through your objective consciousness.

The power of a thought to influence other thoughts depends upon the amount of energy it possesses and the completeness with which a line of association has been formed between it and the other thoughts.

Yet as every experience of life adds new motions to your astral form, and these motions when definitely organized into thought become the source of mental force, it follows that every experience, no matter its nature, may be made a mental asset that adds the energy of its motions to your mentality.

But whether an experience becomes a constructive factor in your mentality, or a destructive factor, depends entirely upon your mental attitude toward it.

If it is viewed as a source of pain, or as something merely interfering with your desires, it sets up discordant and disintegrative vibrations in your astral body that tend to attract material misfortune. But if it is welcomed as a step in progress, and its pleasant features sought out, it sets up harmonious and integrative vibrations in your astral form that tend to attract material fortune.

To transmute otherwise discordant mental elements into those that are harmonious and beneficial is the work of the mental alchemist; for every experience of life, by using the proper process may be made to add energy to your mental organization in a way that increases your mental force.

Objective consciousness

Whatever gains your objective attention must do so through the use of electrical energies generated within your body, chiefly by the nervous system. And the thoughts that hold your attention are the ones that can command the highest electrical potential.

To predetermine the kind of thoughts which are to gain your objective attention the gray matter of your brain must be able to command a higher voltage of electric energy than can be commanded by the thought-cells of your soul, which have insistent desires, and a higher voltage than those generated by other portions of your body, such as your sympathetic nervous system.

This requires constant training to use your brain to control your thoughts.

But in spite of such conditioning of your brain cells to develop high potential electricity and direct it into channels of control various factors may lower the output of electrical energy in such a way as to make thought control difficult.

Tiredness is one and when they receive great volumes of astral energy from the planets forming progressed aspects is another. In this instance certain groups of thought cells within your soul may be able to impart their energy so strongly to your brain or nervous system, as to temporarily dominate your objective thinking. Their desires, or the images which they project on your objective consciousness, may be able to generate so much electrical potential as to hold your attention in spite of your resolve that they won’t.

Self-consciousness

For sake of convenience all states of awareness may be classified as thoughts. Therefore, all the experiences of which your soul is aware, as well as those recognized by objective consciousness, may be classified according to the kind of thought-elements they contain.

In this sense your astral form is a thought-built body that’s built of thought-elements which on the four-dimensional astral plane serve a purpose similar to that served by the chemical elements of the physical world.

Its symbolical level of reacting to conditions does not imply the process of reasoning or even the activity of your physical brain and objective consciousness. It’s just your soul responding to what’s going on.

Feeling is the oldest language in existence. Visual and auditory images that directly or symbolically represent thoughts are far more closely allied to feeling than are arbitrary words and phrases.

Reason only becomes alert to its duties when your soul has a strong desire and determination for it to do so.

Your feelings and moods represent your subjective life. And when they rise from your astral brain into objective consciousness you become conscious of your subjective life.

Consequently, when your soul strives to communicate with objective consciousness, it often uses feeling. So, you may ‘feel’ something to be true, even when reason indicates the contrary. Or your soul may make use of visual and auditory images, such as those you have in your dreams.

Conceptions aka the forming or devising of ideas and plans implies the use of symbols as counters of thought. And the ability to do this – to analyze your own mental processes and communicate the results of your introspection by means of language – indicates the presence of self-consciousness. It is safe to assume that the chief function of human life is to confer self-consciousness.
