Short and simple: Neptune and you

Hermetic astrology teaches that Neptune in your birth chart depicts your utopian urge and this idealistic wonderland of unconscious thoughts and feelings creates unrealistic visions of romantic perfection and provides fleeting glimpses of emotional bliss and ecstasy.

Your starry-eyed utopian thinking weaves imaginary images of how you would like things to be. It shuns the sordidness of harsh reality. You’re not interested in the ordinary: you’re reaching for perfection. Exquisite, romantic feelings have you chasing rainbows and idealistic romantic attachments. Maybe you’re seeking love that transcends the physical to become a permanent rapport of ecstatic emotion.

Your utopian urge easily drifts into fantasy thinking that has you punching up and exaggerating your talents, importance and expectations. Your idealistic standards are setting unrealistic goals. You’re expecting your siblings, partners and friends to live up to unrealistic standards that they don’t have.

Memo to Neptune: Everyone has big flaws and imperfections.

When you’re floating around on cloud 9, you’re unable to see things clearly and easily confused. People and things aren’t what they seem. Promised benefits are never as good as expected and threatened calamities fizzle out or fail to arrive. Good times seem way better than what they really are and bad times seem way, way worse. Confusion is extremely difficult to navigate and when thought bubbles burst you crash back to earth with a painful thud.

Neptune by its house position and aspects reveals the strength and functional status of your utopian urge and the area of your life where there is elusiveness and illusion.

Mystical visions of what could be influence its life-matters. You’re doing a dance of deception. There’s an air of intrigue, increased sensitivity and you’re placing its human associates on unrealistic pedestals.

Deception comes naturally to all living things. Birds do it feigning injury to lead hungry predators away from nesting young. Spider crabs do it by disguise. Adorning themselves with stripes of kelp and other debris they pretend to be something they’re not to escape their enemies.

And you play the deception game to save your own skin or to get something that you can’t get by other means. When you’re found out you lie, mix the messages, confuse the issue, go into denial or become so vague you’re unable to remember. And you’ve been deceived by others and your own idealistic notions and ideas.

Your lazy utopian thinking dislikes hard work and critical analysis. It has you seeking easy solutions to difficult problems. Your desire to get something for nothing has you fantasizing about easy money. It can have you engaging in gamboling or white-collar crime or making contact with scammers, swindlers, fraudsters and snake-oil with unfortunate results.

Memo to Neptune: Easy is very overrated.

When activated by progression Neptune stimulates your imagination, increases your sensitivity and attracts schemes.

Neptune gives you psychic gifts: precognition, telepathy and your mind’s imaginative faculty. Maybe you have dramatic talent. Your imagination can easily fly out of control or provide creative solutions to messy problems. Your call.

Your utopian Neptune thinking can be theatrical and exaggerated. It has you watching movies, reading fiction and taking wishful, sometimes preposterous, flights of fancy. And you’re fantasy thoughts about ease, comfort, bliss, fabulous wealth, no work and a perfect lover are mostly grand illusions.
