In the spring of 1910 when Elbert Benjamine finally accepted the responsibility of writing the Brotherhood of Light lessons, he assumed he was to go to work on them immediately. But those directing these efforts informed him that the time was not yet right, and he would be notified when it was at hand.
Later he was advised to start writing in the spring of 1914. This he did, with the feeling that there was a very important reason for the time chosen, but with no more knowledge than others that within six months the world would be at war.
Yet when war broke out, he felt assured, and was informed, that the writing of the lessons was timed so they would be able to help the world when the military struggle was over.
He was informed that during the period of struggle the number who would accept The Religion of the Stars would be limited. But as soon as some adjustment had been made to the Aquarian Age that people would rely less and less on belief, which is the Piscean tendency, and rely more and more upon facts that could be demonstrated. And that it was essential to have these facts in a presentable form before the military struggle ended, as following it there would be an organized attempt to discredit all inner-plane verities and to discourage all spiritual motives.
The writing of the Brotherhood of Light lessons commenced on March 21, 1914 and was completed February 20, 1934. They were then revised and upgraded in response to new scientific findings and data provided by statistical astrological research and in lesson No.82 Elbert wrote:
‘Whether we like it or not, now that the world has moved into the astral currents of Aquarius all institutions resting on a foundation of mere belief will disintegrate. The orthodoxies of the Piscean Age are irrevocably doomed. Energy spent in tearing them down is wasted, because their falsities are disappearing, dissolving like the morning mists, faster than those who are enlightened can disseminate true knowledge to take their place.’
His words were not intended as an attack on religion. He just felt it his duty to warn orthodox religion that it must base itself on demonstrated facts if it was to survive the change into the Aquarian Age.
In the previous paragraph to the one quoted Elbert wrote: ‘Because Religion forms the pattern of human conduct, its significance is even greater than that of the industrial and scientific advancement now to be seen under way.
Science, which is classified information, gives power to accomplish. But whether that power will be used for the benefit of the race or will enable a few to subjugate and exploit the many, is a religious consideration. It depends upon the attitude toward life whether selfishness shall rule, or the humanitarian spirit which characterizes the finer side of Aquarius.’
That is the real significance of Lower-Pluto’s current world crisis.
In 2025 Lower-Pluto’s forces, which set World War 1 in motion in 1914, and after failing to gain world domination recommenced the same struggle in 1939 are striving to use all that science affords to make selfish bestiality the dominant motive of humankind during the Aquarian Age. And unless they’re defeated it will only be a matter of time until, due to the injustices that outlook on life encourages, World War 3 will be raging.
Atheistic materialism
In 2025 Lower-Pluto works through unsuspecting scientists who it coerces into building a world which allows for nothing but material forces. There’s no God, no intelligent design, no purpose, no soul and no life after death.
Although they’re likely to deny it they’re determined to rid humanity of its religious teachings in favor of a world closely resembling what they observe in nature: brute force, aggression, ferocious competition and selfishness. And their power to influence and shape concepts of humanity is massive.
Without a moral compass humankind will engage in behavior commonly associated with brutes.
As the baleful atheistic virus gradually increases the religious qualities people possess will be overpowered by the endocrine secretions that respond to brute force and hate. And hate is the food on which brutality and injustice thrive.
Some atheistic autocrats express no sentiments of human decency. They’re determined to benefit themselves even if by so doing the rest of the world perishes.
Lower-Pluto’s thugs and gangsters are a product of their nurture experience which includes atheistic propaganda. And once their conscious attention is focused on the atheistic viewpoint it dominates their thinking effectively blocking out all other viewpoints.
In 2025 Lower-Pluto is very clever at selling its big lie: the concept of atheism.
It’s aware that every experience is accompanied by various gradations of pleasure and pain and that all knowledge gained by a human soul is derived from contrasting and comparing different grades of pleasure and pain.
And it’s aware that orthodox religious teachings cause many people to experience a consciousness of pain which stimulates them to overcome the displeasure they’re feeling. And if they contact the ethically neutral teachings of biological science, which deny the existence of God, they can overcome the pain associated with the religious experience.
Materialistic orthodoxy attacks fortune-teller type astrology and extrasensory perception in a way that’s typical of Lower-Pluto: Suppress truth with lies and disinformation.
What’s wrong with the world today and how to fix it
In 2025 there are countless problems and Hermetic astrology reckons they can all be traced back to one human activity: The way people think; and it reckons they’ve been indulging in wrong thinking for a very long time.
Thoughts of violence, hate, fear and revenge (Mars) have been built into the collective unconscious mind; and this discord is continually being intensified by the planetary energies of Pluto (coercive terror, threats, division and atheistic materialism) and Saturn (greed, selfishness and narrow self-interest.)
This erroneous mentality is due to the teachings of orthodox materialism; and if the world is to get well, this attitude must be changed. The deadly conflicts and the political disunity can only be reconciled be a change in mental attitude.
People must be made to realize that there is an overall deific evolutionary plan.

People must realize that extrasensory perception provides proof of their survival and continued existence on the inner-plane where life is not so different from life here on Earth, and that there is opportunity there for learning, progress, domestic life, work and entertainment.
People must be made aware that directed thinking and induced emotion are potent forces, as university experiments with the psychokinetic effect demonstrate. And that the thought-cells which form their unconscious mind aka soul or character, utilize this same psychokinetic effect to bring events into their lives.
And people must become familiar with the facts of Hermetic astrology.
