In the Aquarian Age birth chart Pluto – the planet of groups, division, coercion, cooperation and disinformation – is trine (luck) Sun (world leaders and governance), trine Moon (the common people), trine Mercury (the information agenda) and parallel Saturn (selfishness and greed).
The high-harmony Sun-Moon-Pluto grand trine indicates that cooperation and altruistic endeavor are destined to become humanity’s outstanding drivers paving the way for the eventual realization of the Aquarian Age’s glorious destiny: A thousand years of peace and harmony.
But getting there won’t be easy.
The Pluto period of Aquarius
In 1930 Pluto’s discovery was a calamitous event.
It signaled the start of the Pluto period of the Aquarian Age and re-energized an ongoing struggle, dating back thousands of years, between those who are determined to shackle the world and place it under the iron heel of totalitarianism and tyranny and those who strive for a peaceful world where democracy and universal freedom from want and fear and freedom of expression and worship prevail.
Hermetic astrology teaches that in 2025 the basis of the great conflict arises from a different concept of the universe and of humanity’s relation to it. It’s fundamentally a struggle of beliefs: a fight to the finish between aggressors who believe in a one-plane universe – a philosophy of life that permits no room for forces or phases of existence other than those of the material world; and peace-loving peoples who believe there is a Supreme Guiding Intelligence, and phases of existence above and beyond and better than, the physical.
And since 1930 the current struggle has reached a proportion more vast in its scope than at any time in history, but it’s not a new conflict.
At the turn of the Arian Age over four thousand years ago, the same struggle, in so far as fundamentals are concerned, rocked ancient Egypt with a cunning and malicious priesthood finally gaining supremacy. And at its end, according to Hermetic traditions, those who realized the iniquitous trend and possessed the truth of natural law, banded themselves together as The Brotherhood of Light, to act as custodians of truth until such a date as it could gain acceptance by all humanity.
Some two thousand years later the struggle again broke out with renewed vigor at the turn of the Piscean Age. And for several hundred years the truth of natural law, aka astrology and what is now called extrasensory perception, was given rather wide dissemination.
But some of the forces which seek world dominion are indescribably evil and in the end, after the Roman legions had subjugated the civilized world, came the inquisition, and such freedoms as had previously existed vanished from the Earth.
The struggle recommenced at the start of the Aquarian Age, as witnessed by two horrific world wars in which the freedom fighters were victorious, but the bombing of the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki by the United States on August 6 and August 9, 1945 was a major turning point in human history.
For the first time atomic bombs were used against humans. Tens of thousands of people were killed and cities obliterated. It brought the realization that human created atomic and nuclear weapons have the capacity to destroy all complex life on Earth. Mars was conjunction Uranus in the sky.
According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute at the start of 2024, nine states—the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, China, India, Pakistan, North Korea and Israel—together possessed approximately 12,121 nuclear weapons, of which 9585 were considered to be potentially operationally available. An estimated 3904 of these warheads were deployed with operational forces, including about 2100 that were kept in a state of high operational alert—about 100 more than the previous year.
In October 2024 the growing threat of nuclear warfare (Pluto) was the focus of the Nobel Peace Prize. It was awarded to Japan’s anti-nuclear group Nihon Hidankyo.
Iran has long denied seeking nuclear weapons but in November 2024 it was reported that it has defied international demands to rein in its nuclear program and has increased its stockpile of enriched uranium to near weapons-grade levels.
In 2025 the risk of nuclear war is rated high with two nuclear states (Russia and Israel) involved in wars and making threats. There’s been a breakdown in arms control agreements and a new nuclear arms race is underway. Even a limited nuclear war will cause massive destruction.
In September 2017 the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons opened for signature at the United Nations in New York and entered into force on January 22, 2021. There are currently 94 signatures. The 9 nuclear nations haven’t signed it.
In 2025 Higher-Pluto groups that respect Earth and its people are working to mitigate the chance of nuclear war and to advance nuclear disarmament.
Pluto stifles progress by creating division
In 2025 Pluto’s division is the difference or disagreement between selfish, materialistic Saturn and progressive, freedom loving Uranus: the corulers of Aquarius. And their struggle will determine if suppression, tyranny and bondage will dominate during the Aquarian Age, or whether there will be universal freedom from want, freedom from fear, freedom of expression and freedom of worship.
In 2025 suppression, tyranny and bondage are common and the four freedoms remain elusive. Individuals struggle to live with their own survival dominating any impulse that’s inclined towards concern for the welfare of others.
People fear poverty, disease, death and difference and nationalism is aggressively advocated rather than one great human family working together.
In November 2024 it was reported that poverty in Argentina, which had consistently hovered above 25%, reached 53%: a spike blamed on far-right President Javier Milei’s chainsaw approach to slashing public spending.
Some people live in relatively peaceful conditions while others endure conflict and violence. The great divide between religious belief and scientific knowledge grows wider as atheistic materialism slowly bores away at the teachings of fundamentalist religion. And with religious extremists on the warpath and the reputations of established religions in tatters it’s no wonder that many people seek answers in scientific knowledge rather than mystical beliefs.
Lower-Pluto is a champion human-rights abuser
In the Aquarian Age chart the Equinox, in the third (repression) decanate of Aquarius, is square progressed Pluto and in 2025 repressive regimes continue to impede the human rights of millions (maybe billions) of human souls who crave freedom and liberty.
In December 2024 Syria was liberated from the iron fist of brutal dictator Bashar al-Assad. It’s a nation of 25 million people traumatized by repression.
There are many kinds of power abuse. The worst is when power is used to abuse the abused. That’s when a government uses its political and legal powers to abuse the weak and helpless. And to get what they want economic superpowers can abuse their economic strength. National self-interest is preferred to global welfare. In both instances a deliberate, premeditated course of action causes the less fortunate to suffer pain and misfortune.

In 2025 the world’s most powerful countries abuse their power. It’s often disguised as economic aid and disaster relief. Ruthless competition drives economic policy. Self-interest must be protected: those receiving humanitarian aid must pay for it.
In 2025 corporate dictators are influencing the way the world works. They have the political and economic power to create the world they want. They want the public’s money. Some corporations have more power than your government.
Corporate lawyers and accountants protect a corporation’s interests and it’s all done in a very secretive way. They’re directing the world’s economic development and making rules and regulations to suit their interests. Corporate morality is self-interest driven: spirituality is extinct.
If the corporation is controlling your elected government there’s a crisis of legitimacy. A democracy controlled by the corporation is a dead democracy. The democratic rights of citizens are being abused. And corporate predators hunt in groups for survival purposes.
Pluto in 2025
Even though progressed Mars parallel progressed Pluto in the Aquarian Age chart ends in July 2025, indicating a reduction in the volume of discordant Pluto energy impacting Earth, the influence of Pluto in global affairs in 2025 remains pronounced.
Under its influence the media normalized violence (Mars) and killing.
In 2025 the Pluto cycle is active all year and in the sky Pluto is trine Uranus – planet of freedom, liberty and the unexpected.
Hermetic science reckons that the democratic form of government, with all its inefficiencies and injustices, insures reasonable personal liberty and religious freedom, but as Pluto in the sky transits Aquarius democracy is in serious jeopardy and so are hard won human rights.
In the Age of Aquarius human knowledge is the resource that humanity must rely on to get it right and in 2025 Lower-Pluto’s war on truth is never-ending. Mis- and disinformation are rampant. Truth is in very short supply. You can’t believe what you see or hear.
When you think Pluto think catastrophic polarization and a constant flow of disinformation. It’s the master of cunning, manipulation, threats, intimidation and gaslighting. It advocates a life of money grabbing meaningless materialism.
In 2025 Pluto offers cooperation or coercion and very often destructive coercion is the preferred option. In political circles Pluto’s twin evils – coercion and corruption – are so widespread that it’s impossible to find a decent politician.
In 2025 Lower-Pluto’s thugs and gangsters are spreading mayhem. Its criminals do bad things for money. They’re morally bankrupt and some are in positions of enormous power. Lower-Pluto’s terror groups are busy recruiting. In 2025 the threats keep coming. The leaders of Russia, China, Iran and Saudi Arabia are Lower-Pluto autocrats.
In 2025 Lower-Pluto is the ultimate menace. Its fingerprints are all over the bad stuff: cybercrime, cyber-attacks, cyber warfare, computer hacking, ransomware attacks, online bullying, harassment and revenge porn.

In 2025 the struggle between the forces that advocate for democratic freedoms and those that strive for totalitarian tyranny continues unabated.
Developments over many years indicate that the world has entered a new dark age. Darkness stands for ignorance and it’s incredibly dangerous.
Higher-Pluto’s spiritual warriors have a difficult job fighting injustice, inequality and disinformation. Staying ahead of the crooks and keeping the world safe is a tough gig.
