Modern researchers

The foundations laid by the ancient and medieval people in their quest for answers to the riddle of existence, have been built upon through the centuries by scientists, chemists, psychologists and even more liberal religionists.

It is true that new methods were adopted, and much that seemed reasonable had to be discarded when new research made clear the old puzzle and mysteries. Yet in the main, you will find the same objectives being pursued today.

The alchemist of old believed in first matter and modern science thinks it has just about reached it. The latest analysis of the atom has, resulted in the discovery of electrons, neutrons, and protons as its composition.

The electrical particles are invisible. They can’t be seen and are only known to exist by the effects they produce, but much experimenting and testing has shown that the electronic theory fits into and explains the numerous activities of light, heat and radiation, sound and of matter itself.

This discovery, and its latest achievement, the release of atomic energy, will certainly revolutionize the entire living world as we know it. Its possibilities are beyond imagination.

Now it is certain that all invention, scientific discovery and its application, will add its quota to the improvement of the state of humanity; but unless a more intelligent attitude becomes prevalent, and a deeper spiritual insight arises in every man, woman and child, these released powers will be a detriment instead of a blessing.

Notice the present political intrigue, the diplomatic confusion, and the inability of the general public to grasp the world situation. It seems clear that triumph over the physical world is not enough.

To balance this condition we must have a more perfect human, mentally as well as physically.

Psychologists and students of the mind are making progress. In their various fields they are proving that the many ills and disorders that people are heir to are largely the result of faulty thinking and uncontrolled emotions.

Even the medical profession, so fond of pills and powders, practice more mental healing than they care to acknowledge.

Progressive religious and new thought organizations are doing their best to correct the loose and negative thinking indulged in by most of us.

They have some concept of the unity of the Cosmos, and some ideas about spiritual matters, but draw sharp lines in their credos.

If the scientist can discover the ultimate foundation of material things, and the biochemist cheat old age of its mental and physical decadence, why shouldn’t the spiritual person reach out into the heights and depths of spiritual understanding?

Can they not conceive of a universe vast enough to include every animate and inanimate object, from the lowly amoeba to the millions of suns in stellar space being sustained by a creative intelligent power.

You can perceive this idea through the study of nature and her laws of cause and effect.

An investigation into the workings of your own mind will furnish you with the information that your perceptions and knowledge are not limited to your five senses.

Dr. Rhine of Duke University has conclusively proved extrasensory perception to his own satisfaction by experiments conducted in a strictly scientific manner.

The Spiritualist movement, and the Societies for Psychical Research have abundant evidence of clairvoyance, clairaudience, psychometry, etc. Moreover, this extension of consciousness has been developed sufficiently to enable life after death to be observed and reported upon.

This inner-place experience furnishes you with the basis for living the highest type of earthly existence.
