Probability is simply the likelihood of an event happening.
Probability theory is a field of mathematics and statistics that’s concerned with finding the probabilities associated with random events. The first known text that provided a systematic approach to probabilities was written in 1564 by Gerolamo Cardano (1501–1576) who was a physician, mathematician and astrologer.
From your personal perspective the issue of the likelihood of this or that happening is usually a matter of fantasy thinking.
So, you ask: What are my chances of being hit by lightning? Or, will I win the lottery? And you can try to assess the likelihood of the event occurring. If you rate the event as impossible it has zero probability. The higher your probability rating, the more likely it will occur.
Life is all about events but you’re not interested in the likelihood of your favorite slugger hitting a home run in the game you’re watching based on a statistical analysis of his previous games; and you’re not interested in knowing if your sister who is visiting will be early or late based on a statistical analysis of her previous visits.
You’re interested in the events mapped in your birth chart and by using a scale of 0 to 10 where O indicates the event has zero chance of occurring and 10 indicates it’s an absolute certainty you can quite precisely determine the likelihood of an indicated event occurring. At 5 the event is just as likely to occur as it’s not.

Applying probability to your birth chart
Your birth chart allows you to know yourself. It allows you to learn about your not-conscious thought-cell activity and the events it’s inclined to desire and attract. Thought-cell activity has strength and functional status. It’s been conditioned by environment and operates in a changing local environment.
An event indicated in your chart is inclined to occur when a major progressed aspect to its astro-marker stimulates its thought-cell parent. But as you can change or modify your thought-cell activity and change or avoid your environment you should always rate the probability of a specified event occurring as uncertain. It is not inevitable.
That said, your birth chart does map events common to human souls that your environment facilitates but due to the strength of your thought-cell desires and your personal environmental circumstance indicated events have different levels of certainty. You can use the 0 to 10 scale to rate them as absolutely certain to extremely unlikely.
And keep in mind that environment stimulates thought-cell activity so abnormal environmental conditions like a war, pandemic or economic slowdown can stimulate sedate thought-cell activity which under normal circumstances has little chance of attracting a major life-changing event into doing just that.
