Aptitude is defined as a natural inclination, tendency, talent or gift; and whatever aptitudes you were born with were developed through experience and saved within the thought-cells of your astral body.
When you regularly engage in some activity new thoughts and ideas are being formed and developed; and your aptitude to behave in a certain way has been built into your soul by experience.
Thought-cell activity is the real source of any natural aptitude; and the planets in your birth chart, by their prominence, map the degree of thought-cell activity of each of the ten different thought-families.
Ability is the quality or state of being able to do something; and your natural aptitudes have been developed into abilities through experience aka education, training and practice. Skills are specific competencies required to complete a task or job.
Skill describes the ease, rapidity and precision of a mental or physical action. It’s the expertise, competence and cleverness employed when doing a task and it has a character and training component.
Proficiency refers to how well you perform a job. It’s the facility and competence of your current performance and is acquired through a desire to perform better.
Natural aptitude is not a predictor of proficiency and success.
Soul training
Your soul exists and is programmed to acquire, understand and develop a specific type of knowledge and ability through experience. It’s endowed with polarity, an attractive and repulsive quality, that saw it attract those experiences required for its special education.
Its intelligence and ability evolved through various physical forms and due to its polarity, it had repeated experiences with objects and intelligences belonging to each of the ten planetary types.
It was constantly attracted to situations of given planetary types; and its attitude, or mental reaction, to the conditions it encountered were peculiar to its polarity.
The essence of your soul’s training involved pleasure and pain. When it faced and overcame a painful difficulty it felt pleasure. It learnt to feel pleasure and avoid pain. It developed the ability to overcome difficulties through experience.
Your soul’s evolutionary journey is saved in memory and ability involves memory and memory tends to be activity specific. A good memory for acquiring food doesn’t mean you’ll have a good memory for raising children or escaping enemies.
You were born with natural aptitudes and a potential to develop the abilities required to perform a specific kind of task or activity. Your evolutionary journey aka soul training saw to that.

The development of aptitude requires opportunity, environmental assistance and sometimes luck.
Some people appear to have low-level aptitudes that only suit them for unskilled or semi-skilled work. Others have extraordinary aptitudes that can’t be developed due to social and cultural barriers.
A lack of employment in a particular field can obstruct the development of natural ability. So, a person with an aptitude to perform a particular job may find it impossible to follow because there’s no demand and no financial reward.
The idea that some people have the aptitude potential to do any job successfully is nonsense. So is the idea that financial reward is the sole determinant of a person’s occupational success. This is just a misguided social aberration that has infected large numbers of people.
Some occupations require a number of aptitudes: cluster traits that merge into a special skillset. And in the fast-moving Aquarian Age some basic human abilities are being performed by robots.
