This is a momentous time in US history.
In 2025 the country’s governance, broadly defined as liberal left wing and progressive (Democrat) and conservative right wing and regressive (Republican), changed radically.
America turned into a different place defined by authoritarian rule.
Donald Trump accrued enormous power and he’s using it in a no-holds-barred retribution campaign against his political enemies.
He’s engaged in radical culture wars and his revenge (Mars) agenda is a top-of-the-list personal priority. His wars on science and woke are sideshows when compared to his war on the enemy within.
Conservatism is a political doctrine that’s defined by the preservation of tradition, incremental change rather than sweeping reform and social stability. It attracts people who have a conservative (Saturn) disposition.
But Trump has redefined what Republican stands for. MAGA aka Trumpism is a right-wing popularist ultraconservative party which he rules and dominates through fear (Saturn) and threats (Pluto).
The key tenets of his far-right ideology are: Nationalism and a strong belief in America’s superiority; traditional values focused on maintaining traditional social structures, gender roles and religious beliefs; anti-immigration often based on fears of cultural dilution or economic competition; authoritarianism that limits individual freedoms and is focused on law and order; and popularism that appeals to the common people, vilifies elites, and promotes a narrative of national decline.
Trump’s ultraconservative mindset has been radicalized by extreme fear.
Conservatism once kept extreme radicalism in check but now the checker has been radicalized. Republicans in Congress are terrified of him; and advisors and right-wing agitators like Steven Miller come across as unhinged.
And Trump is unpopular. 50% of Americas vehemently oppose his actions. He has a low approval rating and in October and November 2025 a government shutdown only increased the level of anger and animosity.
In 2025 division and polarization tore the country apart, but that’s nothing new.
America was born July 4, 1776 when the thirteen colonies declared their independence from Great Britain with the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
But by 1860 the United States of America were seriously divided. Slavery (Neptune) had caused the Northern and Southern states to develop different economic, social and political systems and these differences set the stage for conflict and separation.
On November 6, 1860 Abraham Lincoln won the presidential election with 180 Electoral College votes, without a single southern vote. He carried every free-state except New Jersey and the slave states knew they had lost control of the national government.
On March 4, 1861 Lincoln was inaugurated as the 16th US President and on April 1 Mars in the sky – planet of war, troops and destruction – moved into orb of a conjunction aspect with Uranus – planet of sudden developments, rebellions and extreme events.
This highly dangerous in-sky aspect reached peak power and discord on April 17, 1861 at 7.01am GMT and on April 12 Confederate forces fired upon Fort Sumter, South Carolina, and the US Civil War formally began.
With the Mars-Uranus conjunction in house 10 (the President) of the Washington chart Lincoln on April 15 issued a public declaration that an insurrection exists and called for 75,000 militia to stop the rebellion.

What happens in 2026 is very much in the hands of the American people who are angry and ready to take violent action (Mars in house 1) and Mars – the god of war – is very active in the sky during the year. The nation’s leaders, politicians and influencers are living dangerously.

July 4: Mars is conjunction Uranus at 6.06am GMT > Independence Day when America severed ties with Great Britain and became an independent nation; and at Washington the Mars-Uranus conjunction (which triggered the American Civil War in 1860) is in house 1 (the people and their welfare). It’s sextile Jupiter in house 4 (the Democrats) and trine Pluto in house 10 (Donald Trump).
The America people and Donald Trump will pick up the high-discord Mars-Uranus broadcast loud and clear and Donald Trump has pledged a huge 4th of July birthday celebration. Mars is the planet of fireworks and Uranus is the planet of surprises and they’re likely to deliver more fireworks and bigger surprises than anyone ever imagined.

Sun square Mars forecasts a financial disaster
The Sun in America’s chart is in house 2 (the wealth and personal property of the people, banks, non-speculative bonds and securities). It’s conjunction Jupiter (prosperity) and square Saturn (greed and poverty) and progressed Sun square birth chart Mars forecasts a financial disaster. A bond-market crisis is likely as America spends beyond its means.

In 2026 Donald Trump, the world greatest strife magnet, just keeps bouncing from one disaster to another. His destructive aggression barrels out of control leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
America’s story is chiefly scripted by Mars and in 2026 the destruction will reach levels rarely seen. There’ll be an epidemic of anger, political strife, gun violence, blood in the streets, tears and grief.
In 2026 America’s destiny is in the hands of Mars – the planet of conflict, hate and disaster – and it’s trigger happy, reckless, impulsive, shortsighted and selfish. With no sense of consequence, it views aggressive force as the best solution to a perceived problem. So, the hate, political acrimony and division are destined to end in catastrophe.
You might think America would be a better place without him but there are plenty of Donald Trump clones eager to fill his shoes.
