The United Nations in 2025-2026

The discovery of Pluto in February 1930 signaled a critical moment in humanity’s story. It emphasized the need for global cooperation and the establishment of an international authority that had the power to rectify economic injustices and keep the peace between nations.

World War 1, the Great Depression and World War 2 revealed humanity was doing something wrong and the only way similar events could be prevented in the future was for nation states to learn to cooperate (Pluto).

Cooperation is a fundamental force of nature. Through its attractive force physical cells and organs combine to produce a physical body; and various groups of mental elements combine into thought-cell structures to build up an individual’s astral form.

On a social level individuals unite to form family life; and then into groups and organizations which all together form organized society.

It is only through unity of purpose and cooperative effort that anything worthwhile is accomplished. Constructive ideas directed towards the benefit of society as a whole not only help to establish harmony between individuals and nations, but assists in building up a higher state of civilization.

The United Nations

In late April 1945, while Neptune, planet of idealistic schemes, in the Neptune cycle was in luck (trine) aspect with Uranus, planet of the new and untried, the United Nations Organization was organized at San Francisco to get the nations of the world to cooperate in realizing the four freedoms of the Atlantic Charter.

These freedoms – freedom of speech and expression, freedom of worship, freedom from want, and freedom from fear – were formulated and made public in 1941 while Neptune and Uranus were in luck (trine) aspect in the sky.

Unfortunately, the United Nations was not ratified (born) under these auspicious Neptune aspects.

Instead, by the time of its actual birth on October 24, 1945 at 4.45pm EST, when its charter was ratified to become the ‘Law of Nations’ by the required 29 nations, not only had Uranus in the sky moved beyond any influence of its trine to Neptune, but Mars in the sky, the planet of strife, had moved up to a close conjunction with Saturn.

Under the Law of Correspondences, to conform to this new astrological blueprint, the name of the organization was changed from United Nations Organization, which vibrates to 5, the key of Jupiter, planet of beneficence and good luck, to United Nations, which vibrates to 15, the key of Saturn, planet of selfishness, nationalistic self-interest, greed, loss and misfortune.

The influence of Saturn in the United Nations chart indicated that attaining universal freedom from want, freedom from fear, freedom of expression and freedom of worship would be an extremely difficult task. It would test humanity’s capacity to cooperate to the limit.

Eighty years later in 2025 it’s generally agreed that the United Nations ideal, as envisioned by its founders, has in many important ways failed, primarily because member states have, for decades, excessively defended their national sovereignty at the expense of humanity’s common good.

In 2025 the United Nations does not have the capacity to address many global issues because powerful nations refuse independent surveillance and emergency response capabilities. It’s feared they will compromise national sovereignty.

Ongoing wars (Mars) in Ukraine, Gaza, Sudan, Myanmar; lagging climate change mitigation efforts (Saturn); widespread national debt issues (Saturn-house 8); and concerns over technology (Uranus) advancing without governance (Sun) reveal a pressing need for UN reform.

It’s generally agreed the funding, staffing and authority of the World Health Organization must be urgently ramped up; and that a powerful new specialized agency within the UN is needed to focus on common responses to shared, existential threats.

This agency needs to operate with a high degree of depoliticized autonomy and would be tasked with identifying, analyzing and addressing humanity’s greatest risks. By compiling and sharing best practices from around the world global crisis can be prevented.

In 2025 the UN needs to change and to safeguard our future humanity needs to develop a global Aquarian Age consciousness which focuses on shared responsibility, cooperation and pro-active contribution to the common good.

At a time of polycrisis international cooperation is the only way to collectively address the global challenges posed by climate change, disease, ecosystem destruction, systematic poverty, inequality and the proliferation of weapons of mass production.

Assisting the world’s most vulnerable is more than an act of charity: It’s a sign that humanity is responding to the altruistic Aquarian Age spiritual impulse.

The UN in 2024

With progressed Mars (war) in the UN’s chart conjunction birth chart Saturn (food insecurity, poverty and weather disasters) throughout 2021, 22, 23 and 24 the all-powerful Security Council was unable to do what it was designed to do.

Its policing of conflict wasn’t working and member distrust escalated in response to its inability to deal with climate disasters and rogue nations engaging in wholesale slaughter and destruction. Nations refusing to follow the rules-based-order and Pluto’s veto power fueled geopolitical tensions. The atmosphere at the UN became toxic.

The Security Council – the only body in the world that can legally authorize the use of force – failed to deal with conflicts, crimes against humanity, mass atrocities and humanitarian crises.

In March 2024 the impulse to cooperate in the interest of the higher good faded when progressed Sun in the UN chart moved to form a high-discord opposition aspect with progressed Saturn. The influx of Saturn energy, which reaches peak power in February 2025, motivated world leaders to pursue national self-interest rather than humanity’s common good.

In December 2024 the United Nations reported that the number of people going hungry or otherwise struggling around the world was rising, while financial contributions by the world’s wealthiest nations were falling. The UN projected that at least 117 million people will go without aid this year.

Germany, a top UN humanitarian donor, was reducing its aid funding and China and India, among the world’s top five economies, were contributing less than 1% of UN humanitarian aid.

The UN in 2025-26

High discord Sun progressions undermine the UN’s global authority.

Progressed Sun opposition progressed Saturn inclines towards member nations placing national sovereignty and self-interest above the welfare of humanity.

It indicates a failure of leadership (Sun discord) as national and international leaders fail in their leadership duties; and that power struggles between nations at the UN are creating a security crisis. The aspect inclines towards a breakdown in the rules-based-order as pariah nations jeopardize global welfare by pursuing nationalistic self-interest.

In March 2026 progressed Sun opposition progressed Mars (war and conflict) starts > peak power date is December 2026; and progressed Sun opposition birth chart Mars starts in August 2026 >peak power date is August 2027.

The UN’s authority is further undermined as the Security Council is unable to prevent or contain violent conflict. Fury is at fever pitch.

These high-discord Mars progressions incline towards war and high-discord Mars progressions in the Aquarian Age chart, America’s chart and China’s chart throughout 2026-27 escalate the chances of a major global conflict.

In September 2025 progressed Mars in the Aquarian Age chart moves to form a sesquisquare aspect with progressed Uranus > peak power date is October 2o27; and in October 2026 progressed Mars square birth chart Mercury starts > peak power date is February 2028.

In May 2025 progressed Mars square birth chart Mars in America’s chart starts > peak power date is May 2026 > end date is May 2027; and progressed Mars square progressed Jupiter starts in February 2027 > peak power date is August 2030.

In June 2023 progressed Sun in China’s chart moved to form a parallel aspect with birth chart Mars in house 7 (war) > peak power date is October 2029; in April 2026 progressed Midheaven opposition birth chart Mars starts > peak power date is March 2027; and in March 2027 progressed Sun square progressed Mars starts > peak power date is November 2028.

The likelihood of a major global conflict in 2026-27 as forecast by these Mars progressions won’t surprise the military and security experts whose job is to track and monitor the actions of nations.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was a serious breach of the rules-based-order that sent a dire warning to those in the know. In the Sun section of the Aquarian Age imperialism came roaring back.

There’s talk that Xi Jinping has told his generals to the ready for war in 2027 and in 2026 there are five Mars conjunctions in the sky.

Mars progressions don’t make war inevitable but the toxic atmosphere at the UN’s Security Council provides insight into the state of the world. All things considered humanity is charging towards a major global conflict in 2025, 26 or 27 and there’s nothing it can do to stop it.
