You live on three planes of existence and possess a physical body in three-dimensional substance, an astral body in four-dimensional substance and at least the rudiments of a spiritual body in five-dimensional substance.
The first two are common possessions to all life forms. The third is constructed by you using tools furnished by your Spiritual Ego. It’s constructed without sound of hammer, but by the process of internal reactions to the experiences of everyday life and the external expression of the qualities gained.
Becoming saved means that you must construct a spiritual body in a substance that is indestructible.
Physical substance can be destroyed or when wood is burnt transformed into non-physical elements. In this instance the energy is not destroyed but changed by the process of being used in the fire.
However, the astral substance of the fourth dimension, in so far as determining its relative degree of permanence is concerned, is not subject to analysis in the brief span of physical life.
But tradition, which is valuable when given its true label, informs us that when physical earth has finished its own life process and passed away into the energy fields of space, the astral substance, due to its comparative coarseness relative to the finer spiritual substance, will in time undergo dissolution and pass back into the energy fields of spiritual space.
And the same traditional source informs us that spiritual substance is permanent and all enduring. So, with physical substance and its attendant astral substance eventually undergoing dissolution, being saved and avoiding destruction means that you must build a body in a substance that is permanent and eternal.
To transmute anything means that it must be changed from one type into another type by the application of special kinds of treatments; and the ancient alchemist sought to transmute the experiences of life into spiritual values, considering the part that affected the soul and its welfare of greatest importance.
They viewed each experience of life with the idea of determining how it could be made a means of soul progression, deeming this part of life of greatest import because only through this method was it possible to construct a spiritual body in imperishable substance, and thus to become truly saved.
