Venus and your social urge

The practice of mental alchemy requires knowledge pertaining to Venus in astrology and your birth chart.

According to Cindi Lauper girls just want to have fun. Boys do too. Everyone has a social urge. You want to socialize and hang out. You desire to give and receive affection. Venus – the Goddess of love – is active in your life.

Hermetic astrology teaches that Venus is the planet of affection, refinement, joy, lightness, mirthfulness, beauty and artistic appreciation; and that the astral energy it transmits is magnetic, harmonious, gentle, yielding and submissive.

Its wave-lengths and frequencies furnish love: the foundation of all life.

Life not only depends upon the action and reaction of positive and negative forces it requires the binding force of love to unite and hold the cells of physical forms together.

The positive etheric energies which vitalize and sustain your physical body are furnished by the Sun; and the negative etheric energies which mold and give it form are furnished by the Moon. And Venus, the planet of love, provides the necessary elements which unite these two forces.

By furnishing the force that binds the positive and negative etheric energies Venus makes your physical formative life possible.

Love is an attractive force that manifests throughout nature. It exerts itself in society by drawing people into harmonious companionship; unites individuals to their domestic and civic relations; establishes marriage; and gives permanence to human associations.

Love expresses on different levels and always acts as a unifying bond. It has the power to unite all members of society into one great human race. Without it the world would be a cold, dull, morose place, without glow. Selfishness and licentiousness would dominate and quickly lead to disintegration.

When love is tarnished its sublime qualities give way to various vices. It can degenerate into the vile verdigris of jealousy or become the Paris green of luxury and licentiousness.

According to Venus every soul will feel a love vibration. Yours expresses through your social relations with loved ones, friends and partners; and according to the Supremes ‘a love for each other will bring fighting to an end’.

Venus in astrology

Venus is symbolized by the circle of spirit surmounting the cross of matter, indicating inspiration expressing through blind love and art. Mind or reason is lacking so Venus possesses little moral power.

It readily yields to impulse or desire acting upon the strongest momentary whim, submitting to more positive natures without thought of consequence or moral reflection.

Venus is strongly influenced through its affections. It loves ease, comfort, luxury and pleasure and while not essentially evil, in seeking the line of least resistance, may be led into vice.

Venus is unfitted for a life of solitude: social companionship is essential. It loves grace, music and the artistic: it’s not suited for hard or heavy work. It needs employment where affability, charm, grace of manners and good taste are an asset, or where it can reproduce through mental creations in the various arts.

Venus is a benefic planet and its pleasing nature attracts favors, kindness, gifts and gratuities but its actual affect is determined by its harmony or discord and the plane on which it expresses. It can be low, coarse and selfish or elevated, refined and unselfish.

When Venus is prominent and harmonious love will play an important part in the life. It’s directly or indirectly a source of happiness. Loved ones and friends assist in making the life pleasant and easy.

When discordant the failure to resist the temptations and importunities of the unscrupulous can have disastrous consequences.

The house occupied by Venus, and the houses it rules by sign, indicate the departments of life most strongly accentuated by its fortunate influence; and the aspects it receives from other planets indicate the harmony or discord attracted through the thoughts and events associated with the departments of life (houses) ruled by the planets forming the aspects.

Aspects to Venus influence the emotions, social relations and artistic appreciation. Harmonious aspects attract fortunate events involving these life-matters and discordant aspects attract unfortunate events: emotional upsets, delays, social disappointments, sorrow and loss.

Venus expresses artistic qualities: love, harmony and rhythm. The sweet strains of music, the awe-inspiring landscape of the artist and the beautiful words from the poet are all expressions of its finer feelings.

Venus rules the venous blood, veins, skin and hair. It has a decided influence upon the action of the thyroid gland and gonad glands.

Discord tends to a lack of iodine, copper and vitamins E and A. It can indicate problems with the kidneys, venous blood stream, thyroids and internal sex organs and plays a role in the so-called social diseases and female trouble.

Many of the complaints associated with Venus can be traced to carelessness of habits, undue love for ease and pleasure, and indiscretion.

When Venus is discordant and afflicted by progression careful consideration is needed in all matters of affection. Love should be tempered with prudence. Effort should be made to avoid allurements and deceptions which attract emotional hurt and distress. Unwise spending and over indulgence on finery and the so-called pleasures of life should be guarded against. Stability and positivity should be cultivated and the thoughts, feelings and emotions gradually refined through pleasant social activities and artistic appreciation.

The best quality of Venus is affection and its worst is pliancy.

Venus, cooper and you

Venus, like copper, the metal it rules, acts as an alloy and has the peculiar property of giving strength, endurance and life to all other metals or elements it contacts . In human life it brings friendship, mirthfulness, amiability, and conjugality.

Copper has a pleasing association with other metals and is especially useful in strengthening the union between other metals and the cells which compose any form. When absent the form disintegrates.

Physical atoms through the alchemical agent of love enter into combinations to produce your physical body. Its organs retain their life and perform their functions only so long as organic copper unites its separate cells and binds new cells to replace those that have decomposed.

And thought-elements, through the power of love, combine with other thought-elements in your astral body. It’s shaped and nourished by your thoughts, feelings and desires. The more refined your thoughts, feelings and desires the more refined your astral self.

Venus in your birth chart indicates there’s a love vibration in your soul and your love thoughts and feelings have spiritual possibilities.

But hate, lust and selfishness destroy love so it’s in your best interest to divert or transmute your animal instincts into a higher force through the elevation and refinement of your thoughts, feelings and desires.

Your astral body thrives on spiritual love that’s motivated by lofty aspirations, truth, justice, unselfish service and devotion to the welfare of others.

Purity and kindness pave the way for spiritual progress. The transmutation of your grosser thoughts and emotions into lofty spiritual aspirations can culminate in a love of humanity and universal sympathy.
