From July to December 2024 there were few major events directly attributable to Jupiter square Saturn; but on January 20, 2025 the global political environment changed radically when Donald Trump moved into the White house.
February 1: The Trump administration imposes 25% tariffs (Jupiter and Saturn) on goods from Mexico and Canada and 10% on imports from China.
Commentators described the tariffs as brutal. They far outstripped previous ones – Canada, Mexico and China would be made to suffer – and as a result American consumers could expect to pay higher prices and voters new what they were getting.
February 2: The additional 10% tariff across all Chinese imports into the US takes effect. China’s finance ministry says that starting February 10 it would impose levies of 15% for US coal and 10% for crude oil, farm equipment and some cars.
