Throughout recorded history, those who would enslave the minds of people have done three things. They’ve kept them in ignorance, implanted prejudice and inflamed individuals to take actions designed to put some dictator into power or to keep in power those who had already attained authoritarian control.
They’ve used propaganda techniques that appeal to the drive for significance (Sun), the drive for self-preservation (Saturn) and the drive for race preservation (Mars). But as promised benefits never materialize, there’s always a pressing need to keep the attention directed toward something other than a factual analysis of the situation as it is. It’s called distraction.
Intelligence can only be present when the mind possessing it is capable of a completely dispassionate analysis of the subject under consideration. What is written in any book, or set of books, or essay or article is information; and information, if its correct, can only become knowledge when the individual proves it to be true for themself.
Blind acceptance of anything, without critical analysis, is a very sure way to know nothing of the subject. So, being able to repeat what some so-called authority has written or said, indicates no intelligence whatsoever. Any recording instrument is able to repeat most faithfully.
Had authority been correct in the past, we would have no photography, no electric lights and no commercial airlines.
I possess a copy of an article, written in the early days of aviation proving, because of the ‘well-known laws of aerodynamics’ that the airplane could never be more than a rich man’s toy, and that it could never be used in war because dynamite could not be applied that way.
According to these same well-known laws of aerodynamics, the bumble bee couldn’t fly either. It is fortunate for the bumble bee that it did not have the same expensive education as the scientific authority.
When anyone blindly accepts a prejudice against anything that is a legitimate object or field of investigation, including astrology, religion, the human mind, or almost anything else, they’re ensuring their own ignorance by implanting a psychological block which distorts everything pertaining to the subject that enters their mind.
This block acts as an unconscious censor. By suggestion they serve notice on themselves: Facts. Are. Not. wanted.
And the blind acceptance of prejudice is a very effective barrier to intellectual and spiritual progress.
When a well-educated social commentator, who blindly accepts a prejudice against some subject, attempts to pass their prejudice onto their listeners they are ignorant, and working against the intellectual and spiritual welfare of their listening audience.
And those who advocate the banning of books containing knowledge, whether they are aware of it or not, are also advocating the slaughtering of all those who have the banned knowledge in their minds.
We think they don’t know what they are advocating, or anything about the functional usage of words.
Words mean something only when translated into functional terms. To accomplish work of any kind, energy must be expended. Energy can be expended only in contact (connection) with some existing form of substance. The combined action and reaction produce change in form.
Those who want to ban books they haven’t read shows the damage that can be done to a mind through the blind acceptance of prejudice.
When a mind blindly accepts a prejudice passed on by an authority of equal ignorance, and then proceeds to assume that it knows all about the subject of which it knows nothing, it has a degree of egotism that no amount of evidence can penetrate.
The skeptic’s attitude towards genuine psychic phenomena is: ‘I would believe anything else on one-tenth the evidence, but I would not believe that on ten times the evidence.’
It shows the uselessness of offering evidence to a person so prejudiced that facts relevant to the subject cannot enter their mind without distortion.
In other words, it is useless to ‘cast pearls before swine.’
Crafty men, such as Hitler and Stalin, have fostered prejudice and ignorance.
By using the same propaganda techniques that are being used today they succeeded in bringing misery to millions of people.
Whether it’s a politician, political influencer aka rabble rouser of the extreme right or left, a well-educated social commentator, a professor in a university, some religious leader, or an editor who employs these propaganda techniques they are attempting to keep the populace in ignorance and foster prejudice.
They are working against human progress and enlightenment.
Any mind that deliberately distorts facts is not an intelligent mind, no matter how many university degrees the person possessing it may have.
The intelligent mind earnestly searches for truth, regardless of what truth may be. It seeks to eliminate prejudice and gain understanding of its problems, to gain knowledge of what it must do to make progress, and to determine its true relationship to other persons and to God.
The proof of intelligence is always true intellectual integrity.
An intelligent person does not want to deceive self or anyone else.
The crafty person, on the contrary, fosters ignorance and prejudice. That’s the only way they can gain personal power and control over others.
But if the people gain true intelligence, they will see that what was called authority proved, more often than not, to be a fallacy.
The only way that civilization can make progress is through the displacement of ignorance with knowledge and the displacement of prejudice with enlightened understanding.

Civilization advances in direct proportion to the ability of people to think for themselves, to determine truth for themselves, and to fulfill their divine destiny. This can only be accomplished through factual education and the acceptance of individual responsibility.
