Rupert Murdoch

Birth data is March 12, 1931 at 11.52pm AEST; 37S49; 144E58 (Adelaide, South Australia)

Birth data note: At the time his birth was widely reported in newspapers in Adelaide and Melbourne, Australia. All stated midnight (end of day) on March 12, 1931, but was he really born on the stroke of midnight? Such birth times have a 7 minute margin of error and when his birth time was rectified applying the prenatal epoch it was found to be 11.52pm.

His chart’s astrodyne report

Mercury (his intellectual urge) and Sun (his power urge) dominate. Mercury is in the 2nd decanate of Pisces – self-sacrifice – and just like its symbolic pictograph – Andromeda, who’s chained to the rock of materialism – he’s manacled to a life of high finances and money making.

Sun is in the 3rd decanate of Pisces – Cassiopeia, a queen sitting on her thrown – and he’s had an exciting, eventful life filled with change and uncertainty. He may see himself as the king of the power crowd. It’s the decanate of vicissitudes

Mercury and Sun are trine Mars (his aggressive urge) in house 8 (loans and other people’s money), trine Jupiter (his desire for wealth and abundance) in house 7 (partnership and marriage) and trine Pluto (his desire to cooperate or coerce) in house 7. There are 8 trine aspects in his chart so he’s had a lot of luck.

The Mercury-Sun conjunction in house 4 (his father) intercepts the house 1-Saturn – house 7-Pluto opposition and by acting as a peaceful conciliator somewhat eases the high-discord Saturn-Pluto distress.

Ascendant (his personality) is in the 1st decanate of Capricorn – Cygnus, the swan – and he’s a natural born businessman with an exceptional talent for conciliation, coordination, management, economy and efficiency. It’s the decanate of organization.

Moon (his mentality) is in the 3rd decanate of Sagittarius – Sagitta, the arrow – promising illumination when he grows up.

Moon is square (obstacle) Mercury so he’s prone to make errors of judgment and when he’s alone (house 12) he’s inclined to engage in morbid self-examination (Moon in Sagittarius). And Moon square Sun indicates a major dent to his self-esteem.

His mind is cool, confident and logical, completely devoid of feeling and sentiment.

Pluto has above average power and Murdoch wields political power (Sun) and spreads his propaganda and misinformation though his newspapers (Mercury-house 3) and television stations (Pluto-house 9).

With Saturn in house 1 Murdoch is self-interest motivated and financially insecure and it doesn’t matter how much money he has he will never rid himself of his financial insecurities.

His story

Rupert Murdoch is an Australian-born American businessman and media proprietor.

After his father’s death in 1952, he took over the running of The News, a small newspaper in Adelaide, South Australia owned by his father.

He quickly learned that he could control the political agenda and get what he wanted by spinning his propaganda through his newspapers so he set out to build a media empire.

In the 1950s and 1960s he acquired a number of newspapers in Australia and New Zealand; in 1969 he took over the News of the World and The Sun in the UK; in 1974 he moved to New York to expand into the US market; and in 1981 he bought The Times, his first British broadsheet.

On October 7, 1996 Fox News launched in America. It’s a multinational conservative news and political commentary news channel and website which is owned by the Fox Corporation and it’s owned by the Murdoch family. Rupert is the chairman. The family owns 39.6 percent ownership through a family trust. Rupert Murdoch is the chairman of the corporation and his son, Lachlan is the executive chairman and CEO of Fox Corp.

During the late 1990s and 2000s Fox News, which provides a service to 86 countries and territories,  grew to become the dominant cable news service network in America.

By 2000, Murdoch’s News Corporation owned over 800 companies in more than 50 countries, with a net worth of over $5 billion. He owns The Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, book publisher HarperCollins and Fox News through the Fox Corporation.

Through his media empire he keeps his readers entertained and distracted with silly nonsense while he gets down to the serious business of influencing the political agenda in the US, UK and Australia.

According to Forbes magazine his net worth in March 2022 was measured on the financial index at US$21.7 billion making him the 31st richest person in the United States and the 71st richest in the world.

In April 2023 a lawsuit brought by Dominion Voting System was settled when Fox agreed to pay Dominion $787.5 million and acknowledged the court ruling that Fox spread falsehoods about Dominion.

On September 21, 2023 Murdoch announced that he is stepping down as chairman of both Fox Corporation and News Corp with his son Lachlan taking over as the sole chair of News Corp.

Murdoch has married four times and has six children.
